On 10th May, University of Sanya (USY) connected virtually to University of Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) of Malaysia to communicate and exchange in depth on the topics of academic collaboration and joint education program. The two universities targeted to build an academic collaboration community. Che Yi, Vice President of Geely Talent Development Group, Prof. Zhu Qinfu and Prof. Wang Dan, Vice Presidents of USY, and Prof. Gen Jin, Director of Academic Research Department, and the professors of relevant academic fields attended the meeting.
Che Yi said on the meeting that USY and UTAR has established a good foundation for cooperation through the previous communication and programs. She hopes that the two universities will deepen and widen cooperation on the fields of talent education, academic development and exchange with integration of the concept of globalization. The cooperation will form linkage effect and push forward the internalization of Higher Education at the age of digital technology.
Prof. Cai Xiande, academician, chairman of UTAR Hospital council and council member of UTAR said that the two universities should stick to the basic responsibilities of education and strive to train the students of respective universities to grow into health and high quality talents with a global vision, correct values and ethics, thinking and analysis capabilities. He suggested that the both parties should make the best of its own advantages to build interpersonal network of the global market and promote the extensive cooperation in such fields as joint research, joint supervision for master and doctoral programmes, joint publication of thesis, mutual visits by faculty members, student exchanges, industry internship, short-term courses, and industry information sharing. As a result, the endogenous dynamic will be formed from the bottom and a global research network collaboration platform is accessible to more students, research fellows, technicians, which will help to abilities improvement of the teachers and students.
The professors of computer and communication technology, electromechanical and biomedical Engineering, health sciences, electrical and electronic engineering, economics, international trade, environmental engineering, architecture from both universities introduce and exchange their own research fields.
Founded in 2002, UTAR is a vibrant non-profit comprehensive private university in Malaysia with 14 colleges, 52 academic departments and 32 research centers. Business, finance, accounting, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, science and journalism are the best among all the disciplines provided by UTAR.
